Leonard Skinner est décédé cette semaine en passant, le prof de gym qui avait inspiré le nom du groupe... Les artistes, eux, sont décédés il y a bien longtemps, d'un accident d'avion. Des drôles de cocos, sudistes et alcoolo notoires...

Street Survivors (1977)

Inactivité (1977-1987) 20/10/1977 : Décès de Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines et Cassie Gaines ainsi que l'assistant road manager du groupe Dean Kilpatrick dans un accident d'avion. Les survivants sont tous assez gravement touchés. Leon Wilkeson est déclaré mort à trois reprises et on est tout prêt de lui amputer le bras gauche. Finalement, on lui insère une barre de métal et on lui bloque son bras dans une position lui permettant de jouer. Au début des 80's, Rossington, Collins, Wilkeson et Powell se réunissent avec le guitariste-chanteur Barry Harwood, le batteur Derek Hess et la chanteuse Dale Krantz dans le Rossington-Collins Band. On retrouvera ensuite Collins, Wilkeson, Powell, Harwood et Hess dans l'Allen Collins Band et Rossington et Krantz, devenue Dale Krantz-Rossington, dans le Rossington Band.
